Course Overview

The CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support course has been designed specifically for students who are wishing to gain employment in the Support Services, providing support to individuals with living with the results of Ageing and/or Disabilities.

The CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support course reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability, or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical, and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

Once successfully completed, students will receive a nationally recognised CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support accreditation. Students will have accumulated the skills and knowledge required to provide individualised services that support the independence and wellbeing of their clients.

Duration
  • Part Time: 2 days per week classroom based study for 20 -24 weeks and 120 hours work Placements
  • Part-time (15 study hours per week) on campus or through our blended learning model. Through our blended learning model, you will receive course materials to work through at your own pace as well as attend practical training seminars as required. As part of this course, you will also have the attend minimum 120 and maximum 160 hours of work placements which will be organised by TTSA.

  • Ability to gain clean Police, DHS clearances, NDIS clearance
  • Students must have access to a computer, email, and internet
  • Students must have a level of physical fitness to work within the Disability industry.

Course Fee
  • $1850 for Domestic Full paying Students.
  • $200 for Students eligible for work ready funding.
  • $200 for Job Trainer.
  • $200 re-enrolment fee applies for students who do not complete within the completion time

Payment Plan
  • Deposit, to be paid prior to course commencement: $500
  • Progress Payment to be paid following commencing: $500
  • Midway Payment, to be paid at the halfway point of the course: $500
  • Final Payment, to be paid prior to course completion: $350
Additional Fees
  • Students will have to pay for their DCSI/ Police clearance ($130).
  • Students will have to pay First Aid ($120) and Manual Handling ($80) fee.
  • Students will have to pay NDIS Check feed ($120).

Mode of Assessment

  • Demonstration – A range of observation techniques have been included in the assessment tools to help identify the students ability to demonstrate their competence against each unit of competency. The assessor observes these either during a practical demonstration or on the job.
  • Oral Questioning – The student will be provided Oral Questioning based on their understanding of the Units of competency. This can be undertaken during an observation/demonstration or through an interview method, where clients discuss their competence with the Assessor.
  • Written – A written assessment tool is provided to the student to gather evidence using a range of methods, these could include short answer questions, long answer questions, scenario based questions, or multiple choice.
  • Case studies – Used to provide the learner with the opportunity to apply their required knowledge within a given context. This method is applied in conjunction with other assessment tasks such as, questioning and portfolio of evidence to assess the ability to problem solve, work in teams, and decision making.
  • Practical / simulation – This method allows the learner to demonstrate their skill and attitude in their current work environment or a mirrored simulated environment. The evidence gathered from this approach is to assist the assessor by observing their conceptual, interpersonal and technical ability.

  • Course Description – This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide personcentred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgment in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support. Course have 13 modules,7 Core and 6 electives.
  • Selection Criteria – We are not CRICOS provider and do not provide courses to international students. Any other visa group please contact our office. Applicant must be 18 years or older and meet language, literacy and numeracy requirements. A preliminary Language, Literacy and Numeracy test will be conducted at Total Training Solutions Adelaide Pty Ltd Students must undergo a police check for a criminal background in order to work in this field, and may have to undertake additional manual handling training before commencing Vocational Placement. Due to the physical requirements of this unit the student must be physically fit,
  • Recognition of Prior Learning - All individual students are offered the opportunity to apply for RPL or Credit Transfer , please see the Student Handbook or enquire at the RTO for the procedure on how to apply. Please add RPL fee are $200.00 per subject.
  • Credit Transfer - If the student has a prior Qualification or a Statement of Attainment issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework from any state or territory, the RTO will automatically give exemptions for those units of competency provided they are current. Credit transfer will be provided on the student record.
